A different philosophy on designMy clients are busy people, people who love their families, friends and homes and who crave an environment that supports, soothes, enlivens, nurtures and relaxes them.
That, to me, is the purpose of the interior designer. You can see from the gallery of work on this site that I have a fairly clear and consistent aesthetic vision. Yet every one of the projects here was deeply collaborative, and informed by the specific tastes and needs of the individual clients and their families. Yours will be too. |
Working togetherEvery client is unique, so the process below is modified to suit different needs and desires. But it will give you a general idea of the flow of a project with Susan Oster Design.
Complimentary first conversation If you like what you see here, the first step is easy and low-key. Call me. I'll come see your home (or, if it's not built yet, your site and plans) and talk with you about your dreams and goals. We'll talk about how your family really lives in your home, and start brainstorming. Initial ideas and contracts With this very preliminary information, I can draw up a few ideas and general budgets. I'll prepare a contract for you to look over. When you're ready to get started I'll work up drawings with swatches, photos of furniture, wallpaper and all the other elements of our vision. The goal is to start a visual conversation that gives you the confidence (and enthusiasm) to move forward. How much you want to be involved in every detail is up to you. If you have an architect or builder, I will meet and work with them to ensure your outcomes are fluid and natural throughout. I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to call me at 203-801-0860 or email [email protected] and start a conversation soon. |
